halloween...

the halloween has it's origins in pagan festival's of the celtic civilization,people whose culture and religion dominated much of europe for many centuries.when the celts occupied britain and ireland ,they believed this on the night of october 31,the day before the on set of winter in that region,bad spirit's roamed the planet.
dessed as witches and ghost's, the celt thought that,so bad spirit's would be confused.
halloween was ,for all that the night of witches and wizards. the party lasted three days ,on day 2 had early celtic calendar the last two days of november was dedicated to the worship of ancestors hence the name all saints day eve then all hallows eve to end halloween.
halloween has as a synbol ''jack-o- lantern jack is a pumpkin with a face ghost anda flashlight inside ,his function is to chase the bad spirits.

thanksgiving day...

the thanksgiving day is a day as important as christmas to the u.s. for some time there it is also being celebrated in our country.it all started with the departure of the english puritans immigrants fropm europe on a ship called ''mayflower''.
in 1620,when they arrived in massachusetts, usa,founded ''plymouth''with the help of the indians,they learned to plant ,hunt and fish. a year later on the last thursday of november ,immigrants gave thanks to god for having survived their first year in a new world.the harvest was plentiful and they celebrated with a dinner and declared  a holiday from there today.
currently ,this day is a family holiday.on this time ,distant relatives civing gather for a great dinner and give thanks for the past year.they usually offers a dinner with turkey ,sweet potatoes,corn and pumpkinpie.

HEITOR VILLA-LOBOS


Heitor Villa-Lobos was born in Rio de Janeiro on March 5, 1887 and died on November 17, 1959. He was a Brazilian maestro and conductor. He is the main responsible by the discovering  of a  peculiarly Brazilian language in music. He was considered the biggest  music exponent during  the Modernism  in Brazil, composing works that praise the  nationalist spirit and  incorporated elements of folkloric and indigenous songs.




thanksgiving day

The celebration of ''thanksgiving day'' comes from  The United States .In  1620, out of the England, a ship leading  many families, that were  fleeing from  religious persecution , and were  looking for  a  land of freedom.They find  this land when they arrived to american continent, about thirteen colonies, and rooted themselves in The United States of North America.
The first year was painful and difficult to these  families.The cold and the beasts were adverse factors but  they didn't discouraged them. All of them had faith in God and in His promises.They cutted trees, built shelters of wood and planted the soil, confidently.The Indians knew  that place,so they decided to improve the production and God  blessed them .In Autumn of 1621, it had a harvest as blessed as abundant. So they moved and sincerely grateful  invited the indians and together  celebrated  a big party of praise and gratitude with their the best fruits. That was the first celebration of "thanksgiving day" celebrated  since  then  in The United States in the forth  NovemberThursday,date established by the President Franklin D. Roosevelt ,in 1939, and approved by the congress  in 1941.
